Over the last eight years, HOCKET has created our own little language while communicating in rehearsals, delivering musical opinions, and planning programs. The language has developed according to our sensitivity to each other's timing and it has streamlined our decision-making process, allowing our varying ideas to quickly cohere. Sometimes the language is verbal, sometimes it's non-verbal, but as members of a duo, we are always in dialogue with each other and that dialogue is always evolving. Every Something is inspired by that in-progress language and illustrates the space we give one another to interpret, adapt, and respond.
